Ichigo has been doing great!   He had an upset tummy on the ride home but after that did well.  The girls adore him. and it took quite awhile to get everyone settled down that night.  His vet check went great and he's starting to get the hang of going potty outside (gets right down to business, which is great at 2 a.m.).  Obviously not making it completely through the night yet, but at least he's decided his crate is a great place to sleep.  He hasn't cried at night at all, which really surprised me.  He's one great puppy!
Absolutely smitten,

Hello Linda,

Samantha continues to grow more beautiful each day. She too like her brothers and sisters has discovered some naughty tricks but quickly returns to her sweet side.

She still responds immediately to the sound of children's voices. I agree with all those responding to you that your entire family is responsible for all the wonderful personalities of your collies!

Hope all is well with you. We think of you each day with all the great updates realizing that you have done more in one day than I could hope to accomplish in a week!

Many thanks again for your loving devotion to these most wonderful companions.

Warm wishes to you and all your family.

Everything is going great. He is such an energetic  guy. He went to the vet last week and everything was great. They were really impressed with all the documentation you provided. As seems to be the case with all your puppies and dogs,he was the “show stopper” at the vet-everyone had to see and touch him;and of course he just loves seeing everyone. He has now had two puppy lessons and is doing fantastic-the trainer is really impressed, such a smart little guy(maybe not so little).HE tipped the scales today at 20.0 lbs,and not an ounce of fat on him.He also woke up today with his ears a little wacky,we’ll just have to wait and see about that. He is everything I wanted and more-we have bonded so well together.I cant thank you enough for all you do for your collie family. Will be sending more pictures shortly.       THANKS  SCOTT (Ohio)

Linda,

I just wanted to drop a line and tell you how wonderful our Honey Bun’s doing. If you can remember I was a little apprehensive getting a female when my previous collies were both males. I wasn’t sure if she would be playful enough. What a joke that turned out to be. She‘s already 44 pounds and runs around the house like a Sherman tank. She’s certainly a feisty confident girl who’s not afraid to rough house with her older sister Rosie our 72 pound Golden. She’s not real tall but just a solid girl.

Geri thought she would take her on a long walk after supper the other night but the only one that got tired and wanted more sleep in the morning was Geri. She’s really growing fast and we see some wonderful black coloring coming in on her coat. She’s going to be one of those collies that going to have a mixed color coat and gives you a different look everyday.

I also want to thank everyone for the updates. It’s great to see how Honey’s brothers and sisters are coming along.

Thanks again for the wonderful work you doing caring and prepping these puppies. I can just tell from Honey’s personality the time you and the grand kids spent getting her ready for us.

Gary (Wisconsn)

Hi Linda,

I know everyone who has one of your dogs say they own the best dog in the world. But really I do own the best dog in the world, so let them believe they have the best one (jajajjaja) ;)

Sorry to not update more often, I promise to download the pictures from the camera soon and send you some more. In the mean while, I hope you enjoy this one that I took with my iPhone at 4 months old.

She is getting big, very loving, smart, great friend, playful, beautiful, etc...

Please let Lexi know that her Whisper is the best :)

Have a great day and thank you for choosing us to have one of your puppies.

Hi Linda - Just had to share. My husband got up from the rocking chair on our front porch and Maeve (aka Lucky) jumped right up. Isn't she a big girl? She was very concerned about the fact that the chair did not stand still once she got up there! She's such an amazing dog! Last night we were playing a game we call "crazy runaround" where we chase her around the living room and dining room with a toy in her mouth. It's very hard to catch her! Something was caught in her collar so I told her (right in the middle of the chase) to "sit!" Wouldn't you know it? She stopped right away, sat down, dropped her toy, and waited until I figured out what was stuck and took it off her collar, and them the game resumed! I cannot express how intense this game is! Frankly, I was so proud that she knew her priorities and sat right in the middle of the chase! She is incredible at only 9 months! This is a major "chase" game! And she sat as soon as I gave the command! Go Maeve!! Maeve is amazing and incredibly smart! Please share with the families who will soon be getting Garlind Ridge collies! It's life changing!

Garlind Ridge collies are exceptionally smart and gentle. Maeve is more than a year ahead in terms of intelligence and maturity compared to any collie I have had as a pup before. Maeve is showing the maturity of a 2 year old!

We adore her!

Congratulations to the families bringing home

the adorable new pups! You are in for a treat!

Love from Lucky Maeve's family!

We love Garlind Ridge and would NEVER go anywhere else!

Love,

Maeve's family

Hi Linda,

I thought you might enjoy seeing who is the current star of the show on our vet's Facebook page...take a wild guess.  He is white and fluffy and sweet as pie :)

amazed at how well-behaved he was and how he can adapt to new people and situations so easily.  Another testament to this fabulous breed and also to what a great pup you have given us!!

Have a great week!!

Yesterday, we took him in to the vet for a routine exam and he weighs 70 lbs and is in perfect health. I think he would make the perfect therapy dog because everywhere we go people love to touch him and they get the biggest smiles on their faces. We are thinking of adding another collie to our family one day, from you, of course! I cannot thank you enough for breeding such wonderful collies. We are all very happy! I'll make sure to send another e-mail of more adorable pictures of when he was growing up, but I have included some of our more recent ones here.

Thank you again,

Sincerely,
Thomas and Kasey.

Linda , thank you for sending the pictures of Lilly on to everyone .......... I like to show Lilly off . Speaking of showing her off : I had a couple come to see her who are wanting a puppy so I gave them your web address and said I thot you may be having another litter of puppies soon or at least by fall .They loved the collies and both of them were so well mannered ..I was very proud . Lilly did us proud and did some of her zany antics ......a cute " puppy run " and her new thing ; trying to climb up a large bush with the kittens . We all laughed till our sides hurt . Lilly enchants everyone with her beauty and her love of life . Lilly is an incredible gift , Linda !!!!!! Its hard to put into words ....it sounds like we aren't as crazy about the rest of our dog family , which isn't the case , we love them all . But there just is something so special about Lilly .......maybe she's an angel in a dog coat . We couldn't have found a breeder with better dogs to buy a puppy from .............so thank-you again from the Spencers .

Heidi continues to do really well over here.  She had her first Vet appointment and she charmed everyone in the office.  The Vet fell in love with her and during the exam, everyone was poking their head into the office to see the "beautiful Lassie puppy".  Our Vet was fantastic and took the time to read all of the paperwork that you sent home with us.  She was very impressed and said that she could understand why we traveled 9 hours for Heidi, since it is obvious that you are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about your collies.  We couldn't agree more.

Thanks for all you do.  We love reading everyone's updates!  It's like a puppy support group :)

Heidi sends her hugs (and bites!)!

Have a great night!

Thanks Linda, loved the picture of all the pups. Willow is doing great she’s herding me up and down stairs and making sure I never get too far from the rest of the pack. She is so funny, and happy, she is the happiest dog I have ever had. Thanks for our new buddy.

Linda,
It is interesting in retrospect.  I am not writing this to placate you or make you feel good.  When we got Dexter, it was so joyful.
Your dogs seemed so at peace with you and natural in their environment.  They were happy.  We took such joy in the
process and the feeling was all about getting that special new puppy. At this other place, I felt like I was rescuing a dog.  For the most part they
lived in cages in her basement.
Keep doing what you are doing.  Your dogs are gorgeous and, more importantly, happy.

Hello Linda,
Calypso is already a well figured little girl.  She topped the scale at 11.1 pounds this past Monday.  All checked out at the "Doggy" doctor.  The Vet was impressed with the testing you have done.  She said you obviously are a "Good" breeder!  Kudos to you!  I agree.  Little Calypso has quite the little attitude at times and quite the voice.  But with that said she has me wrapped around her puppy paws.  She sleeps in our bed every night.  What a pampered poop!  Mason just loves having her chase him.  Of course they have had their disagreements...but they are having a good time.  Potty training is going ok.  The pooping outside is fine...but we are working hard on the peeing issues.  That naughty puppy stage is certainly here.  We spray the bitters...but she goes right after it anyway.  We are having a great time with her.  Hope all is well with the new babies!  Thanks again for our sassy Calypso.

Follow up on spaying. All went well and everyone at the Vet's absolutely fell in love with Sophie. They just keep repeating what a great dog she is and I have to agree. She has her moments but so do we all! Thanks for breeding such great dogs!! The results are self evident.

Hi,
Thinking about you every day and assuming you probably are up to your eyebrows in puppies.  Sandy loves it up here although she does miss her cousin collies and our grandkids.  Your dogs are so social and loving.  We get compliments from visitors here all the time about Sandy.  I'm e-mailing you to let you know we're in the middle of our first measurable snow here and Sandy wants to be out on the deck all the time to play in the snow and eat it.  Right now she looks like a white collie-not a tri color.  Matt and Kalibur are coming for Thanksgiving.  Miss them both.  When I see pictures of Kalibur I really miss him. Linda, you produce the best collies in the whole world. We just thank our lucky stars that Matt found your website two years ago.  Hard to believe Kalibur is going to be two on the 21st. Hopefully Matt can send you pics soon.

One of the pictures I attached, we took a drive to enjoy the fall colors, and he still likes to curl up on my lap in the car (that is if his head isn't out the window!!), he'll always be my lapdog no matter how big he gets! Again, I will never be able to thank you enough for such a beautiful, intelligent, and unique companion! Hope all is going well on your end and your enjoying these beautiful fall colors!

Hi Linda
Oh how time flies.  I can't believe we are already to mid-October.  Miss Vixie is doing great.  I went to the doggie park with her for the frist time last weekend with it being so nice and she absolutely loved it and so did I.  I had never been before but I thought it was great.  I think a lot of the boy dogs thought she was hot!  They would not leave her alone. She is such a good dog and we just cant get enough of her.  She is a great listener and well behaved.  I am so glad that we found yuwhen we were searching for a collie breeder.  Thanks again!

Hi Linda,
I hope all is well with you! I wanted to pass along some updated pictures of Chesney. He has been going to puppy classes weekly and has sit, down and leash walking conquered. He does so many other things that amaze us how smart he is and how quickly he catches on! He is such a lover and can't get enough attention and we love to give it to him! When people stop to pet him and they are done petting, he puts his paw on them and that tricks them into giving him that much more attention. We love our Chesney and can't thank you enough for bringing him into our life.
Here is Chesney and the fam!
Take care and god bless!

HI Linda.  You've heard of a boy and his dog, well this an old man and his dog. He will not let me out of his sight, day or night and we have bonded unlike any other. We have large palm frons that fall off of palm trees when they die and that is his favorite toy to run like the wind with it in his mouth. Oh by the way they are about six feet long. I have certainly enjoyed all the pup pics and also the feedback from all the great owners. Keep up the good work, love and kisses from Mr. Finnegan and also liz and Mike...  (Florida)

Hi Linda,
Miley is such and smart and sweet girl.   We tell her "get busy" and she does!   She knows sit,   shakes a paw and sort of knows stay.   As you know they are angels one second and naughty the next. Even her naughty is gentle mixed with stubborn.  I love her to death.
Today we took her for an exam. Our vet is from a family of veternarians and very up to date.   He said it was nice to see someone doing things right when we showed him what you guys have been doing.  His Dad did horses and cattle in Belvidere Illinois and still assists him when there are emergencies.

Riley is settling in nicely. He is a ball of energy and so much fun. We spend most of the day outside and he wants to come in. Then we come in and he wants to go out. He has the best of both worlds. We are not having any of the troubles with bad behavior. Sometimes he gets so tired he just crashes and falls asleep. We have found that if we give him two naps in his crate morning and afternoon he does better with the activity. We are working on walkng with the leash but he thinks he should carry it along in his mouth as well as being attached. Very helpful. We are very pleased with him and his growth. Thank you Linda for the super lovable companion.

Take care

Linda, just wanted to let you know that Maverick is no worse for wear, he is a joy, but sure is honery. He's an ankle biter but we are fixing that problem quick. When we got home this afternoon he and Hannah ran through the sprinkler together. He was even drinking out of the hose. Here's a pix of them wet together. He even went down her slide. She loves him. Thank you so much for the wonderful dog. We will keep you posted.

He topped 67 lbs this week and judging by his appetite he is going to continue to grow. I, as you know, have had eight collies and none of them can be matched to Mr. Finnegan.  Thanks again Linda for your emails and friendship. We LOVE FINNEGAN.  Mike and Liz Marshall...

Hi Gary & Linda,
Gucci is a STAR here already and we fall more in love with him by the minute....
He got a bath this evening, has eaten well, drank water and pooped and pee'd outside.   And get this, he fell asleep in Craig's lap and Craig put him into the kennel like he was a baby.  He snuggled right down and dozed right off.  Now the teenagers are back up here and couldn't resist playing with him, he came out of the kennel and went outside and pee'd like a pro!
We CANNOT thank you enough for this sweet boy, we love him to pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a terrific weekend, you deserve some rest and time for yourself.
Thank you for the pictures, we'll send some tomorrow.
Tracy (Wisconsin)

Linda,

I really want to commend you. I know you were new to breeding when I first contacted you, and we almost had a bad misunderstanding because of all my questions. But I am so impressed with how you have developed the Garlind RIdge collie. Your earlier email this week about the expected litters and also the expected health scores... bravo to you that you are breeding for health and not just a "look" !! This email, too, shows your "stuff" -- responsible breeders do find homes for their "kids" when these circumstances change. You care about them all their lives. If you ever need a recommendation or testimonial, call me.
Happy Easter and love licks from Rufus! Amy  (Illinois)

We have had many collies from different breeders and I can without a doubt
say that Garlind Ridge produces consistently beautiful collies with great temperament.
I am amazed and thankful to have found such a wonderful breeder.
And we sure do remember Paul, Rhonda, Gunner and Ace.
That day was awesome...thanks Rhonda.

Hi Linda
Yea we have had a lot of people tell us how beautiful he is. We have even had a couple of people take pictures of him. He is very unique in our town. I haven't seen any other collie here in years.
Thanks again for our beautiful Gus.

Linda,
It is truly a small world.  Unbelievable how the love of animals (especially Garlind Ridge Collies) bring people together.  You are so kind to always respond, no need to with this one.  Just wanted you to know how special the collies are you breed and to let you know ( in case your ears didn't burn) that Suz and I talked about how glad we both were that we had chosen you as the breeder for our dogs.  You are Special.
Sincerely,
Carol (Minnesota)

Hi Garlind Ridge

Everything here in the big bad Sault Ste. Marie is going great!  We have finally named our little dude, Linus...it seemed to fit him the best.  He is so sweet, clumsy, and funny.  We get a kick out of watching him run around because it seems like he knows what he's doing, but really...he hasn't got it all figured out yet.
Him and Gracie still get along great, I find if he's sleeping Gracie periodically goes to check on him to see how he's doing and as soon as he wakes up they're back to playing and getting into trouble.  Oh yeah, he's discovered that toilet paper is fun!  We always have to be right on him to teach him what's okay to play with and what isn't...he's getting to know 'down' and 'no' pretty good.  Pretty soon I think we'll start him with some tricks...we just want to make sure the house training is set in stone and that he know's his name.

Anyhoo...that's the update for now, I hope everyone is doing well there.
Take care

Kisses from Linus, "Rambo," our Sweet Babboo :)

Hi Linda,

Dakota is a very smart puppy!  My house is situated on a small hill with a walk-out basement.  I take him outside through the lower level patio door.  I hung bells on the door at the main level that goes to the basement and ring them every time we go outside.  Yesterday he rang the bells himself to tell me that he had to go outside.  That is only one week after being here!   I was optimistic about that working but didn't expect that he would catch on so quickly!  He also knows that I walk in the house first after going outside for potty.  (I take him out on a leash for now until I get my yard fenced.)  He actually stops at the patio door and looks at me while I walk in.  He is amazing!

Does Sassy Jo miss them?

Lots of Dakota hugs!

The neighborhood approves of Whisper the dog although about half like the name.

She has imbedded herself as the Whetzell Treasure.  Even Logan has finally accepted his training assignment and puts Whisper in her place when needed.

My sister loved your dogs and we hope she will consider one of her own.  We will send her some of the pics you took while she was there.

Thanks, Linda.  I appreciate everything you do for your collies, the puppies, and your families.  You and your family have made this puppy experience a very joyful time for me and my family.  I know you don't have to do anything more than just sell a puppy and send people on their way, but then that wouldn't be you or your way.  I can't wait to experience what others who have a Garlind Ridge collie have.  I miss having my collie, but it won't be much longer now.  Yeah!!! I am soooo happy.  Oh, happy collie days!  Oops, I said it again.  Somebody stop me.

Beautiful Collies
Linds has provided beautiful, real life pictures of the mother and father with all puppies. Everyday until I can pick my puppy up. This breeder is extremly honest and up to date. Linda, is not like some breeders who never show you the pictures of the parents or any other real pictures. I would not hesitate to recommend this breeder. Extremely happy, Helen

Hi Linda

We are still learning about our camera, so hope these pics come through.  If not we'll try again.  Prints and Buckaroo are just a couple of loves.  They are so sweet and enthusiastic and adorable!  Our entire family just loves them!

Hi Linda,

I thought you’d enjoy this picture of our boy.  He is such a good dog. Casey’s daddy Buck would be proud of how good a watch dog Casey has become. Casey has a different relationship with each member of our family. He is of course closest to Hannah. He still expects company to introduce themselves to him otherwise he will have a fit. I wish you could see how he gives a hug.  He is as I’m sure you know a typical Garlind Ridge collie, very loving, gentle, & intelligent. Collie hugs from all of us in Illinois!!!

Dear Linda,

We went to the vet for the second shots today, once we entered the clinic, I heard almost all the people there said "How cute that puppy is!" or "It's a beautiful puppy!", I'm so proud of Dolby.

He weighed 22.1lbs today, the vet told me that he is doing great and he has a big bone, he is going to be a big guy; here are a couple of photos of this little big guy.

Linda & Gary, thank you once again for bringing me such a wonderful puppy, he brings a lot of joy and fun to my family!

Hugs & kisses from Dolby!

So far Jessie is still doing great, way better than what we were expecting. My parents came by yesterday and could not believe how calm of a dog she is.

I also wanted to thank you for everything you did for us, I was really
impressed by all the information you had and talking with us about the puppy
stage. You took the time to show us and explain what to expect which since we did not have a puppy in 14 years, we forgot a lot of things. If we (we are
already talking about another one in a couple years) or anyone else is looking
to have a Collie, I would tell them there is no one else than you.
Thank you again, Tim

Hi Linda,
I just wanted to give you an update on Caileen. She is beautiful( pictures to be sent shortly) and getting more and more affectionate. A dog trainer( with 20 yrs. experience) was over in order to evaluate our yard and dog for an invisible fence. He said that Caileen is highly intelligent in that she picked up on his hand gestures and what he wanted from her right away. It was an amazing thing to see as I have never used those same gestures and wouldn't you know, she is eagerly doing them for me too !  He believes that she will be trained in 4 days rather than the 2 weeks that the company says you should plan on.

Thanks for the wonderful dog!!!!

Eli is completely potty trained unless I screw up. He is a pistol, but I wouldn't trade him for anything. He is so smart and handsome too. Can you tell I am not too prejudice. Please tell Jordan hello from me and Eli. Please tell him that when Eli is naughty I can him Eli Jordan. Thank you for my beautiful boy.

Hi Linda,

I did not get a good party hat picture, but here is our Southern Girl on her porch for her birthday.  She is such a sweetheart!  We feel like we have had her forever and all love her dearly.

Here is a funny story that shows her personality:  Yesterday she was playing with her miniature poodle friend, Lily, and they were trying to get a stick from each other.  Lily grabbed a mouthful of fur on Bonnie and pulled hard, leading to Bonnie pinning Lily on the ground.  The funny thing was that after Bonnie pinned her, she gave her kisses on the mouth, as if she was saying, "I am in charge, but I really, really love you!"  Then she went and got the stick and threw it to her.

Thank you for your wonderful collies and the joy that they bring to everyone!  Hope all the puppies have a wonderful birthday.  p.s.  My kids BEGGED and BEGGED to adopt Chesney.

This is one fine dog....not just the breeding, but the love and limitless caring just shows....i sense she will "sally forth into this world" in great shape. and like kids, the abilities to trust themselves and those who care for them makes this sallying forth possible...

I must say you have raised some great dogs.  Gozie is so very sociable, easy

Hi Linda,

I'm sorry it took so long for me to type and tell you what a wonderful time we had at your house with the collies.  Tucker was exhausted with a smile on his face!  I LOVE Elle May and Fancee.  You are a miracle worker of time and passion for your collies, the farm and your human family!

Tucker is also a couch potato when he's really tired.  If I'm on the couch, he'll put his head and shoulders on my lap for a snooze.  I've noticed this trait in many of the Garlind Ridge Collies :)

All our best to the Garlind Ridge Colles and Thompson family!

Hi Linda,

Lilly is doing great.  Enjoys our walks and likes to go in the car.  She is my shadow.

Had to send a picture of her new door mat.  One of the other collies had one and I thought it was so cute.

I think she has her mama's face but is built like her papa...........stocky and her coat is so thick.  She is nothing but a fuzz ball.

I wouldn't know what to do without her.

Collie hugs and kisses

Hi Linda,
I just had to let you know about all of the compliments we (and you) have been getting about
Caesar and Cocoa since we've moved to the suburbs! Every time we take them for a walk, everyone tells us how beautiful they are.  This weekend, people even asked us if they were show dogs!  They just couldn't believe how good looking they were!  Not only that, but people will tell us that their friends/neighbors told them about Caesar and Cocoa.  Apparently people see us (or the dog walker) walking them, and people around the neighborhood talk about what gorgeous dogs they are!  They're not the only collies in the neighborhood, but they're the only ones people talk about!  I thought those were all very nice compliments.  And everyone who asks, we tell them where we got them from!

Greetings Linda and Gary!  I think you should rename your business "Miracle Collies of Garlind Ridge".  Logan is a delight and seems quite comfortable here in her new home.  She loves being the center of attention, and carries herself with confidence around other folks and dogs.  She is taking well to her crate and to her leash.  We went on our first long walk this morning.  She has had her first bath and took it like a little champ!

Thank you and your family so much for the time and love that you give to each puppy! We are so grateful to have Murphy in our life.

Thank you again, she’s so precious to our family.  Having a white collie means so much to our family and Snowy is the greatest puppy. Thank you for raising such a beautiful puppy and having her so well socialized that bringing her home has been a joy.

Snowy is…well there’s really no words to describe how much we love our little girl.  She brightens everyone’s day and we are thankful for her.

Snowy sends hugs, nips, kisses!!!!

Hi Linda,

I have to laugh at DOUBLE THE TROUBLE ... don't I know that first hand. It's been four years since we brought little Buck and Miss Maddie home on Memorial Day weekend and our family hasn't been the same since. You know, these two are inseparable and to this day as my mom would say, full of piss and vinegar. Bucky is still the most mellow and Maddie isn't happy if she's not looking for something to spice up her day. She is for sure most dominant. But, all in all I can't imagine my life without them. Every night before bed I tuck them in and I kiss them good night and I am sooooo happy to have them! Billy and I were certianly blessed with these two.

The boys absolutely love him and wrestle all the time with him and the Zeus the black lab.  Oh by the way he likes to sleep on the couch at night when he thinks on one is looking.  What a little stinker.

Oh I wouldn't trade him for anything.  And a talker you can get him to
carry a conversation with you. I never have to worry about him hurting anyone that is the nice part.  Thanks for such a wonderful buddy

All of the parents and students that come to my house just love her - I feel lucky because I get her all of the time!!   She certainly does have her "moods", but she makes up for it with her sweetness.   Thank you for doing so a wonderful job in socializing her with kids, she really gets excited with my students & their siblings!

Maggie says happy birthday to all her sister and brothers, and sends hugs and barks, and we're glad to be kept up on all of the comings and goings at Garlind Ridge, you folks create the most wonderful pets (or kids in our case) for the nation.

Oh, yeah,a big thank you for child tempering the puppies.  We have little ones next door and Maggie gets along famously with them (our fifteen year old sable and white, who we lost before adopting Maggie, made children "sit and be still" or they felt her wrath- barks and butt bites!).

Hugs all around,

Hi Linda, just an update on Suzy.  Went to the Vet today and Suzy has doubled her weight, 14 lb., 8oz.  Still little compared to Scout. (didn't he weigh 20 lbs.?) I think her body is 8oz and her heart is 14 lbs, she,s a real lover.  By the way, I keep forgetting to tell you that Suzy still has that little prance she did as a little pup.  She prances by me in the morning with a stinky daddy sock in her mouth.  Her little butt prancing down the hallway. The vet cannot believe how beautiful she is, I showed her the covergirl shot and she said we definitely have bragging rights.  She sat so pretty in the waiting room, with her little head cocked like waiting in line for a photo shoot,  then when we get in the office room she started to whine a little, so I picked her up and hugged her on my lap, she was as quite as a mouse.  Then when the doctor came in she jumped down and ran to her with open paws to give Suzy kisses.

All for now,

Angie

(Illinois)

Hi Linda,

Well we went to the Vet today for our second shot.  Everyone ewed and awed about what a pretty girl I had and where did I get her.  Of course, I had all your records and the pictures of all her brothers and sisters.  The vet was very very impressed.  "Cool and awesome" was what I heard more than once.  You have another admirer Linda,  I told him of how we got pictures of our babies everyday............the layout of the nursery and then the bigger playpen downstairs, the potty pan, and of course the socializing by the grandkids...........he was in awe.

I have gone to this vet clinic for 25+ years.  He was happy for me .................he knew how I had missed Dinah after she passed away.

Thanks again for my pretty girl.  What a lover she can be

Our family is thankful for all you do to bring these beautiful collies into our lives.  You are thought of fondly every time Bucky makes us laugh, gives us a "kiss" and showers us with her unconditional love.

Thanks hardly seems enough.

Hi Linda
I had to let you know how funny Bella Bling Bling is with her "catch and release" game.  She will find a ball in the house and will bring it to the top of our stairway.  (We have a bilevel home) so when people come to get their kids from daycare each day and night she will drop the ball down the steps and wait for them to toss it back up to her. She would do this all day long, that is if anyone would ever have the time to play all day!  She is such a sweetie pie. She is our star at night and our sunshine in the morning!!!  Hugs and kisses to all of  you,

The Raether family and Bella Bling

Linda,

Thanks for all the great pictures. Maggie made it home like a trooper. She spent the first night at our sons house, and continued to our home this afternoon. She slept most of the way.  She has met the cat, Maggie was much more excited than the cat was. They will work it out I'm sure. The rest of the family is going to met her one at a time. She is so small and yet such a huge part of the family already. Thank you for a wonderful addition to our family.
Hugs from Maggie,

Thank you Linda for the wonderful Cobalt!!  He is sooo smart; I can't believe it.  I love him to pieces!  I'm a little tired because he was up all night missing you and his family, but it is so nice to have a baby in the house;)  He has had a long night, but I think he is having fun.  He has been playing hard and then crashing hard.

We also wanted to thank you for the pics you sent us, they're great!  It really means a lot to us.

Hi Linda,

Hope you are having a good night!

Just wanted to send you some pictures of Harlie.  She is doing great!   Everywhere I go people ALWAYS comment on how beautiful she is.  I took her to the groomer and there were a few men in there and when they saw her come from around the corner and got a good look at her they could not stop talking about how beautiful of a dog she was.  I get so proud of being her owner it's not even funny.

Hugs and Kisses to all of you there at Garlind Ridge...yes Gary too!  :)

Linda I just wanted to thank you again for EVERYTHING!  This little girl is going to be so loved and bring so much happiness into all of our lives, and for that I want to thank you.  I truely believe it was meant to be, just the way everything fell into place, with us finding a home, with the litters being born when they were. I am so happy we got her, but I am more happy that we got her from such a loving family that truely has a passion for what she does.  If you make everyone feel as welcome as we felt you truley are a special person. After leaving your house last night I felt as if I was leaving a family members house.  So again I thank for everything.  Thanks also for all the pics from last night I have forwarded them to many people already.

Thanks again

Thanks for the photos.  What a happy bunch of collies - their smiles are contagious!

Remmie is doing great!  He just took a 7 day trip to my mother's house.  He was a trooper in the crate with Monet and two fresh bones.  No messes, no fussing.
He is SO big now!  He went swimming tonight, and with his hair wet he looked like a giraffe with those long legs!

He has a gorgeous long coat, and he is getting more handsome by the day.  We really love him.  At my mother's, he barked at the horse, kept the raccoons at bay, and listened to all the coyotes howl with Monet.

I will send photos soon.

Have a great night, and thanks for a terrific boy!

Well Abby has settled in nicely and enjoying the her new home, yard and friends.
She met her new "sister" Hollie and the two played and ran around the yard.  All our neighbors also came over to see her and by the time we brought her in the house, she was exhausted and curled up on the dog bed to take a nap!  At bedtime, when we put her in the crate, she cried at first, then she settled down and slept the entire night.  Today we spent the morning doing yard work and her and Hollie where running and playing, she is once again exhausted and taking an afternoon sietsa!  We are going to take her and Hollie on a walk when she wakes up and also to Petco to buy more nyla bones (she loves those!!!).
Thanks for this incredible gift, we are enjoying her so much and loving this new addition to our family!  We will send pictures soon.

Dear Linda,
Enclosed are some pictures of Disney-who is now 1 year old!! Our daughter, Catherine, turns 7 on Christmas Day so we had a birthday party for her on December 7th and everyone sang Happy Birthday to Disney too! She was so good-the whole family is hooked! Thank you for our beautiful collie-We love her so much!
Merry Christmas to all of you!

Linda,
We love him very much.  I can't even imagine a life without him now.  He is a very loving fellow. He is also absolutely gorgeous.  (Oh and at the time of his neuter he was 60 pounds.)  He is going to be a big boy just like his dad.  To me there is nothing more wonderful than a large mound of collie curled up on my feet.  And, the looks he gives us are filled with intelligence and affection.

Don't know if it's all collies with the "Lassie" attitude, however Winnie has it and I have to believe it's her initial imprinting -- thank you from the bottom of my heart for an angel in disguise -- I am alot safer (and so are the other d oggies) because of Winnie!

Alex and I were just talking -- we love the pictures of Chantilly.  You said she was sooo sweet -- Alex said (and I fully agreed), that's because YOU raised her -- if you bred and raised pit bulls -- they would be the sweetest, most loving and trusting dogs.  Again, thanks so much for the best of the best breed Haven't said it in a while but, again, thank you for Winnie!

Hello Linda,

I can't believe sayah will be two this weekend.  I remeber two years ago when we were looking for a collie breeder and I came across your website and knew I needed to get a collie from you.  Sayah came to me just when I needed her the most, we had just lost my first dog ever and I was in my freshman year in college.  Sayah couldn't have been more perfect for our family.  She threw our family out of the norm, with her crazy antics and smarty pants personality.  We all needed that fire ball to make us laugh and liven up our lives.  Even though sayah was what our family needed she was more what I needed.  She didn't replace my first collie Bright she just helped me cope with it.  I raised sayah for 3 months when she came home so me and her have a bond I don't think Ive ever had with another dog or person.  I can't say it enough but thanks for the wonderfull crazy tri color collie sayah.  And then a bit over a year later we got Ruari who just added the goofball energy we needed.  Sayah is my love and my guardian angel she watches over me as I care for her.  Happy birthday Sayah and all of her siblings.  Thank you so much Linda for the perfect additions to our lives.

Love,
Carly, Sayah, Ruari, and family

Hello Linda,

Hi Linda!

Wow, what a fun week.  As you know, we love our little Samson.  Every day we think about how easily he has become a part of our family.  He so obviously loves being with people.  We thank you for doing such a good job getting him ready for his new home!

Hi Linda,
Here are the pictures I promised you.  I figured I should throw in one of Caesar too, since he's such a handsome guy!  They came back from the groomers all soft and smelling nice!  Yet again, the groomer said she had no problems with them.  She even managed to trim their feet without problems, and she was done with both of them in 3 hours!
Cocoa has really grown up lately.  She is getting to be very well-behaved.  They are both such great dogs, and we get compliments on them everywhere we go!

Linda, Suzy, the love of our lives, has really shown her true colors.  She is so smart.  We just love her so much, is it possible to love a D-O-G too much?  I must admit, I am leaving for a cruise with my sisters and god mother for my 40th on Wednesday and most of my list for my Mom is Suzy's needs.  Ya know, bisquits, blankie, squeekie toy, tummy rubs.  Im telling you.....as my daughter say's, she's just a girl with four legs.  She really is a miracle in our lives.  My son even said the other day, "Mom, I just can't imagine life without Suzy"  He's the perfect age, every morning when he opens his door he call for Suzy and she does her little Suzy prance down the hall with her butt doing that wobble, shake thing to greet him.  Then after school, it's off to the back yard for some real nerf football fun!!!!
All for now,......bon voyage!!!   Angie

Hi Linda --

Just wanted to pass on my amazement at your upkeep and constant changing of the Garlind Ridge website!  It is just so beautiful and complete -- there is nothing, absolutely nothing, a prospective adopter could want more of!  It is just so reminiscent of the love you have for your collies (all of them).

I, as a Garlind Ridge collie owner, still love looking at the website almost daily for the updated pictures and new "headlines".  Boy, oh, boy, I can honestly say one of the best things I've done is adopt a Garlind Ridge collie -- there are absolutely NO negatives!

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for that feeling of "belonging"!

Many hugs, kisses and nippers from Winnie and "her" family here in Tower Lakes

Hi Linda,

I finally had a few minutes and filled out the AKC registration on line....sometimes I LOVE technology!!! (when it works right). Bella is a little doll and I am so amazed at Reata. Reata is soooooooooooooo gentle with her. Oh, of course sometimes she gets a little too rambunctious but considering she was a one and only spoiled brat before Bella arrived I thought there would be a whole lot more sibling rivalry. Things have been hopping for sure. Thank-you for our little doll. Mary

Please remember to put us on the list for your next litter.  I have never had a boy collie.  Are they as loving as the girls. Cali is the sweetest angel in the world.  We love her so much.

Hi Linda, I just wanted to tell you how great Beau is. He has the best personality of any dog I've ever had. (Not exaggerating).  He is so easy to train, I have taught him so many tricks and he loves doing them. I think I could teach him a new trick everyday. He is so good that I take him over to friends and families houses. Normally I wouldn't try this with  4 month old puppy but he is so well behaved and everyone loves him-even the people who don't like dogs are nuts for him. He minds very well which is so surprising to us. When our German Shepherd was a puppy it was a constant battle of wills until about age 2. You tell him no and he stops. He also seems to have matured already.  I remember the really horrible puppy stage going until about 10 months with my lab and GSD.  Great great dog. Thanks, Ehren

Linda,
Here are some pictures I just took of Freya. She's wonderful, very smart, doing just great. I hope you are doing well. Nice looking new male puppy you've got coming.

I have been enjoying seeing the new puppies.  How lucky all the new families will be to get their new puppy.  Linda, you are such a wonderful breeder.  My mom said that Pasi must have come from a really good place because he is so beautiful, smart, easy-going, loving, etc! I had to agree. I know you would like to see pictures.  I will get some to you soon.
Blessings and hugs from Pasi,

Misty had her last round of puppy shots this week and is a healthy, happy collie pup. Her personality couldn't be better. We really appreciate her good breeding. She is healthy and well-balanced.

Hi Linda
Yea we have had a lot of people tell us how beautiful he is. We have even had a couple of people take pictures of him. He is very unique in our town. I haven't seen any other collie here in years.

Thanks again for our beautiful Gus.

After being spayed, we receiving this note:
When I picked her up yesterday, everyone at the facility was telling me what a beautiful, sweet dog she is.  They said that all the other collies that come to stay with them are “basket cases” and to keep doing whatever it is I’m doing with Tara.  I told them that what they see in Tara started with the breeder who socialized the puppies from day one.

Thank you for my wonderful “little” girl (47.5 pounds on the 14th) who is growing into an excellent companion.

Lots of kisses from Tara, Deb, Jerry and Nathan

Hi Linda.

It's been a while since I've sent pictures of Macy, so I thought you might enjoy an update.

Macy is doing so well.   Last we weighed her she was 52 lbs.   She looks like more, but she's just so fluffy!    I can't believe it's been just about a year since we brought her home - she's "grown up" so much!   She still
likes to play - and she has the boys to keep her busy, but she is also a little love bug.  Since I'm with her the most (kids at school and Joe at work), she follows me everywhere.  She is always lying next to me or at my
feet.   She also love to give kisses - and will generously give them to anyone who will let her.    She still loves our daily walks and playing fetch with a stick in the backyard (she runs with the boys until she is completely exhausted).    She is a happy, content, well-behaved girl - and definitely the princess of the family!   We are blessed to have her - and we love her so!

I'm happy to hear you think Macy's coat looks so good.  We've actually never taken her to a groomer - we do it ourselves - mostly Joe does.   He still clips her nails and brushes her all the time.  She is so good natured, she never puts up a fight.    She's also had her share of baths!  Our yard slopes down and when the weather changes or we get a lot rain, the bottom of the yard gets kind of swampy - needless to say, Macy's white legs and paws have seen their share of MUD!   She's still a farm girl at heart!  We still feed her Eukanuba and I ALWAYS get her the healthy dog treats.  I'm kind of a health fanatic with my kids - and now with Macy too!   I think her healthy diet and the exercise she gets really helps with her coat too.

I'm glad you enjoye the pics!   We'll be in touch soon!

Hi Linda,
We made it home late last night with no problems. Storrie is now a cowboy and he is enjoying Wyoming. He was the perfect puppy at the hotel and did not have any accidents. We did give in and let him sleep with us the first night. Today he was more active and is now sleeping on my foot as I write this letter. Storrie has adjusted quickly and seems very happy and mischievious.
It was a pleasure to meet you and your husband. We felt like family. The pictures you sent are great. I will be sending pictures as soon as I figure out how to do it.
Thanks again for your hospitality and for raising such wonderful collies. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have Storrie. He is adding so much to our lives.
Take care,

Hello!
Thank you for everything yesterday! We got back home around 1 am! It was a long trip but so worth it to sleep in our own beds! Maddie Bug did wonderful on the trip! We had here in our laps for a little bit and then put her in the crate when we stopped to grab some dinner. She stayed in there for a few hours and then we got her out when we stopped for gas. She did her business in the grass and then I had her on my lap for the rest of the ride home. She woke us up a few times in the middle of the night- some because she had to go potty, other time because she wanted some attention. She has been great with the cats! She has not chased them or barked at them! Millie, my younger cat was outside in the yard playing with Maddie Bug this morning! I will send some pictures after my tests this week! Take care- hope you had a great weekend!
Thanks again!

Hi Linda,

We loved meeting you, Mister, Ellie May, Katie Bug, and our little Lucy May.

She was a superb traveller..some cries, soothed by Katie and Landon easily;

stopped for a potty break and water as you suggested..playful and delightful

every minute. We love her to pieces and she is a wonderful addition to our

family. She took a couple naps on the drive home, ate a bit, explored, and

played outside..now is sound asleep in her crate...Thank you so very much

for our puppy. We just love her.

Your insights are right on...thanks for sharing your wisdom. Give our love

to Ellie May.  Tomorrow is bath day, social time for Lucy May in meeting some friends, and

time to clip nails...inbetween play time and naps. Sounds like a great day. Thanks so much, and take care..I will email soon~ Jeanne

Ok so we had a great ride home with NIko and he only had one accident after we were home for a while.    I put a little radio next to his kennel and oh what a fantastic night he had. He went to bed at about 10:30 got up whined at 1:30am took him right out he did his business and went right back to sleep.  Again at 5:30 same thing and he slept till 7:30.  CLEAN/DRY kennel ALL NIGHT.  Hope we can keep the routine for the remainder of the nights till he sleeps through.
He is so flippin' cute. And of course a hit with everyone here!!!  They can't believe I drove as long as I did for a puppy...I said oh you don't understand we have a WONDERFUL breeder and I would have traveled further if need be.
Thank you
Hugs and Kisses from Harlie and Niko.

Hi Linda,  I have been looking at all these pictures you took of Ace off and on all day (mostly on, hee hee) I can't get enough of him!  These pictures are amazing....I will be printing them off for his baby album.  Love the one with the Wisconsin sweatshirt and ball hat, it's his roots, priceless!  In the highchair, precious....I LOVE THEM ALL!!

His arrival is highly anticipated...the whole neighborhood knows he's coming, ha ha!
One of the things that amazes me about Ace is his markings....it is almost as if he is one of those ink spot paper thingys.  Where they put ink on one side of the paper and then fold it and it makes the exact same mark on the other side.  He is going to be one handsome fella....
Many thanks again!
Rhonda
